Data we process when you visit this site
Server log files
When you access this website, our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits. This may include the browser type and version, the operating system used, the referrer URL, the requested page, the date and time of access, and your IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources and is used to ensure a secure, stable, and correctly functioning service.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and security of the website).
Hosting (Cloudflare Pages)
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, which acts as our processor. Cloudflare operates a global network, so the server log data described above may be processed on servers outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. A data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR is in place, and transfers are safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR). Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
Cookies and analytics
This website works without non-essential cookies. We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies, and we do not embed third-party content that profiles you. Only technically necessary cookies required for the operation of the site may be set; these do not require consent (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, § 25 (2) TDDDG).
Contacting us
If you contact us by email, the details you provide (such as your name and email address) will be processed to handle your request and any follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). We delete this data once it is no longer required and there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary.
Recipients and third countries
We only pass personal data to processors acting on our instructions (in particular our hosting provider, Cloudflare). Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we ensure an adequate level of protection through appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
Retention
We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by statutory retention periods. Once the purpose ceases to apply and no retention obligation remains, the data is deleted.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR);
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR);
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR);
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR); and
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@rhyzome.io.
Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement, if you consider that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to our processing or legal requirements. The date at the top of this page indicates the current version.
